A good blouse and pair of jeans can be awesomely versatile. From weekend outings to workwear, layers and accessories can really mix up the look so that your favorite blouse and jeans combo can be repeated again and again while still looking fresh.
Here's the basic look- this DR2 blouse from Nordstrom Rack is flowy and loose, with fluttery sleeves. The sky blue color and white flowers are pretty, the top caught my eye because I could imagine it styled in a variety of ways. The jeans are dark wash from A.N.A, they are a skinny fit but not a skintight skinny. Read on to see what I added to these basics to make four completely different outfits.
A chunky-knit boyfriend cardigan, glasses, a simple necklace, and flats makes for a casual cozy look. A flowy top that hits between the hips and waist looks great with a longer sweater, and fitted jeans balance the shape out. I wore this look to work, as my workplace is quite casual. I'd also wear it on the weekend or out to coffee.
A flowy open cardigan, wooden necklace, boots, and a floppy hat completely shift the tone of the blouse. A bohemian style is so fun and feminine. I would love to wear this for a concert or wine tasting.Your favorite blouse and jeans can also be elevated for a sophisticated style. A well-fitted blazer, pumps, and dangly earrings make the outfit formal enough for a business casual environment. I would wear this on a Monday when I really want my students to take me seriously!
Even if a blouse is a little dressy, you can take it down a notch for a relaxed look. Slip-on shoes, a light-weight scarf, stacked bracelets, and a wristlet are casual-chic. I would wear this for a chill night out, or walking around town.
Next time you want to wear your favorite blouse and jeans try mixing it up with some new layers and accessories! Let me know what styles you come up with. Which of mine is your favorite?
