When we had seven family members come and visit, we wanted to have something fun, easy, and of course delicious for dinner. All credit goes to my husband for coming up with make your own pizza night!
This is a super easy dinner that pleases everyone, and your guests can have fun with it too. This is by no means a fancy or Pinterest-perfect meal (I mean, there's paper plates and patio furniture in my photos), but it is one I know I will make again! We created an assembly line in our kitchen starting with the basics: crust and cheese. To make things easy we picked up some pre-made single servings crusts at the store. You could also make these with fresh dough. We offered cheddar, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese.
I prepared three different sauce options: A classic marinara, a creamy white sauce, and a tangy barbecue sauce.
We offered a variety of meat and veggie toppings: Pepperoni, salami, grilled chicken, bacon, yellow and red bell peppers, spinach, and cilantro. You could really mix it up and put out whatever toppings you want!
Our family members worked through the kitchen creating their own masterpieces. When several were ready, we put them on a tray and baked them in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes.
Within a short time, everyone had custom-made and delicious mini pizzas!
My brother-in-law Nathan even got artistic with his pizza.
Just add a salad and it's a great meal for a group!

That's a much bigger toppings selection than I would have prepped! I love cilantro but have never thought to put it on pizza; now I wonder what other cilantro pairings would go well together on a pizza crust (black beans? lime? sweet potatoes?!)
ReplyDeleteOoh those are great ideas! I believe I put cilantro on mine with grilled chicken and the tangy barbecue sauce and peppers. I think it would also be great with black beans, lime, and sweet potatoes!
DeleteYum! We have a make your own pizza night (with just myself, my husband, and our boys) about once a month. I press out the crusts onto the cookie sheets and they can put their own toppings on. I love the selections you have though; I don't get that fancy!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! We love to make mini pizzas at our house too!
