Casual Back to School Teacher Style

Teacher life at back to school time: excited nerves, early alarms, frequent trips to dollar tree for supplies, constantly running through your students names in your brain, trying to get teenagers to detach from their cell phones, and in this teacher's case... major excitement about a reason to wear decent clothes every day!
My uniform through the summer is usually a swimsuit or workout gear, maybe jean shorts if I'm feeling fancy, and a messy bun that may have been washed in the last four days. I'm nasty, I know, my friends remind me often. So you can see why I get excited to get dressed again!
The school I work at is quite casual, these are a few of my favorite looks over the last two weeks.

This patterned chambray top from Roz & Ali is my fave. I love the tie front and the casual-cool style. White jeans and gold accessories give me that "I'm coming back with my summer glow" feeling. I'm loving this twisted braid, it was easy to learn, here's the tutorial.
This super-soft ruffle hem tee from LOFT is dreamy. My sister and I both bought it when we went shopping, because that's what we do. I will be checking their clearance racks for the black and white striped one. This is a great casual Friday look with skinny jeans, sandals, and a half-up bun (mine was very voluminous that day).
This is my second day of school "you have to take me seriously, so I'm wearing glasses and a commanding color" outfit. Leopard shoes, pearls, and red lipstick pull it all together in a fun and fierce way.
This fun and sassy look has to be my favorite. The day I wore it, a student of mine said they almost didn't recognize me and I "looked new". No clue what that means, but I think it's a good thing? Either way this comfy striped Old Navy dress is a staple for me, along with a long necklace, wedge booties, the serious glasses again, a top knot, and the gorgeous purse my mom got me for my birthday.

None of these photos were worthy of a whole post, so I thought I'd share them all at once. Which style is your favorite? Thank you for stopping by and happy back to school!
