1 Top 3 Styles

Hello friends!

It has been a long time since I blogged! Life has been great and busy with the start of the school year (post about my classroom coming up!), a wedding, and family visiting.
I'm happy to be back and hope to have time to blog more often. I think the chances of that are good, since football season has begun. While my husband cheers on the Ducks and the Seahawks, I like to sit with him and cheer when something good happens... but I have a hard time paying attention to sports on TV, so I also usually have my own thing going on too (like blogging).

Do you ever find an item that you love, but have no idea how to wear it? I bought this floral tunic tank at Rue 21 last Spring. I was drawn to the bold floral, deep blue color, and crochet edge. It has a great shape, but wasn't exactly sure how to style it at first. Since then, I have had a lot of fun experimenting with different ways to wear it.

A great thing about tunic tops is how many options you have. They look great belted, layered, free flowing over maxi skirts, pants, or leggings, or even tucked into a skirt.
Here are my three favorite warm weather looks for this top!

Tucked In

I adore skirts that fit at the waist, and they are so great for mixing and matching. On this sunny day at the park I tucked the blouse into a summery skirt and kept it simple with nude flats.

That big mound in the background? That is the Butte, the clearest landmark in Hermiston (and really the only elevation change). It is a good hike up to the top, and has a beautiful view!

June in Eastern Oregon is really windy, hence my hair fixing in almost all of these pictures :)

Top- Rue 21
Skirt- American Eagle
Shoes- Payless Shoesource

Belted and Layered

The bold pattern and free flowing shape of this shirt make it a little bohemian. I brought out the bohemian flavor with a brown leather belt and gladiator sandals. Belting a tunic tank at the waist totally changes the shape.

Tank- Rue 21
T-shirt- Wet Seal
Capris- Old Navy
Sandals- Family Heirloom
Cool story about these sandals- they are actually from Greece! My Aunt lived in Greece for a time, and she gave these to my mom about 20 years ago! Do you have any hand-me-down pieces with interesting background stories?

With a Maxi Skirt

Pair a tunic over a maxi skirt for a free flowing look. This outfit was seriously comfy. I never wear anything this all-over loose, so it was a bit out of my comfort zone but I felt very graceful. I usually think of pairing loose skirts with more fitted tops, mixing it up was worth a try!

Top and skirt both Rue 21
Sandals- same as above

What other ways have you found to make a great item versatile? Having different ways to wear one item can make your closet seem so much bigger, which is always great!

Summer will always be my favorite time of year, but I am ready for Fall weather and fashion (it's still in the 80's and 90's here).  I know I am excited to pair this with my  boots and jean jacket when fall finally comes around.

Thanks for stopping by!
